Joey Panico
I named my coaching company Tailor Made Coaching because I believe in a customized approach for each client, rather than a one-size-fits-all method. Every individual is unique, and I focus on actively listening to tailor my coaching based on what’s being discussed in the present moment.
Since 2010, I’ve been coaching youth soccer, where I’ve witnessed the positive impact on young athletes. This experience inspired me to extend my coaching to professionals, helping them enhance their daily lives and achieve their goals.
I am currently pursuing my ACC Associate Certified Coach credential through the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
In my spare time, you can find me at the gym, coaching youth soccer, enjoying nature walks, or exploring new restaurants.
A Story of Leadership Development Through Personalized Coaching
In coaching team sports, much of the focus is on group dynamics and team strategies, which can sometimes cause individual players to get overlooked due to limited time. Attention is fixed on the whole team rather than on each player. Taking a player aside for one-on-one dialogue helps them focus on elevating their game while boosting their confidence.
For instance, I coached a player who was technically proficient and had a high soccer IQ. His on-field performance was impactful, but I saw even greater potential in him as a leader. I took him aside during a practice to discuss how developing certain leadership traits could lead him to become the team captain in the future. The following season, when our regular captain moved on to a higher-level team, this player stepped into the captain’s role, proving the impact of our one-on-one mentoring.
Similarly, personal coaching can focus on your individual development, helping you refine your leadership skills, improve decision-making, and build confidence. Through tailored, one-on-one sessions, you can gain valuable insights and strategies to lead your team effectively and reach your goals.
